Exploring Minneapolis’ Dynamic Food Scene: New Openings and Local Favorites

Minneapolis continues to thrive as a culinary hotspot, with new establishments enriching the city’s diverse food scene. Here’s a look at some recent openings and enduring favorites that food enthusiasts should explore.

New Restaurant Openings

Arch and River

Set to open this summer along the Mississippi River, Arch and River will offer Afro-Caribbean French “bistronomie” cuisine. Operated by the team behind B’beri Desserts, the bistro will serve coffee and pastries in the morning, with brunch, lunch, and snack menus throughout the day. Beer, wine, and cider will also be available both indoors and on the patio.

Pikok Lounge

Located within Daniel del Prado’s East Asian restaurant Minari in Northeast Minneapolis, Pikok Lounge offers upscale Korean-inspired dishes at affordable prices. The menu features unique hand rolls, shrimp toast sandwiches, and gochujang-glazed rice cakes, with all items priced under $20. A standout is the double-patty kimchi cheeseburger made with wagyu beef and kimchi mayo.

Inti Kitchen & Bar

Taking over the former Revival restaurant space at 4537 Nicollet Ave S, Inti Kitchen & Bar is slated to open in May 2026. The new establishment will serve Tibetan and Indian cuisine, with plans to remodel and expand the interior to increase seating capacity from 45 to 80.

Beloved Food Trucks

World Street Kitchen

Since 2012, World Street Kitchen has been a staple in the Minneapolis food truck scene. Founded by brothers Sameh and Saed Wadi, the truck offers a diverse, globally inspired menu featuring items like the Bangkok Burrito and Yum Yum Rice Bowls. Their Moroccan Fried Chicken Biscuit and Korean “BBQ” Beef Short Ribs are also crowd favorites.

Gastrotruck

Operating for over 14 years, Gastrotruck is known for its elevated American cuisine, including sliders, crudo, and creative tacos made with locally sourced ingredients. All sauces and condiments are crafted from scratch, reflecting the owners’ commitment to quality and innovation.

Red Rocket Pizza

For Neapolitan-style wood-fired pizza, Red Rocket Pizza is a must-visit. Often found at Bauhaus Brew Labs, they offer fresh ingredients and quality pies, with the Hot Chick pizza being a fan favorite.

Whether you’re eager to try the latest restaurant openings or revisit cherished food trucks, Minneapolis offers a vibrant and ever-evolving dining scene that caters to all tastes.
