Minneapolis Convention Center’s Sustainability Efforts
The Minneapolis Convention Center exemplifies the city’s commitment to sustainability. The facility offsets 100% of its energy usage with solar and wind power, featuring 2,613 rooftop solar panels that provide on-site green energy. Additionally, the center has implemented comprehensive recycling programs and utilizes nearly 100% compostable food containers and utensils.
Community Involvement

The city encourages residents to participate in programs like the City Trees initiative, which makes adding trees to properties affordable, and the Green Careers Exploration program, designed to prepare youth for careers in the green and clean energy sectors.
